First Sunday in Nursery

Rosie turned 18 months on Christmas day and has reached a big milestone...nursery. The first Sunday we took her to nursery I ended up helping out so it wasn't too hard of a transition. The second time was a little harder but by the second hour Matt and I were able to enjoy a toddler free Sunday.

Rosie is quite the little character. She is talking so much and it is surprising how many words she knows now. I was keeping a list of all the words she can say to put on the blog but there are way too many.

Here are some of Rosie's likes
  • Books - she is obsessed especially with these ones! She'll play with her other toys for a few minutes but then goes right back to her books. I hear "read it. read it. read it." all day long.
  • Music - both when I sing and when we play real music. She especially loves Bieber, One Direction, Of Monsters and Men, Mumford & Sons, and Avett Brothers
  • Playing hide-n-seek
  • When dad gets home
  • Rice - I can hardly feed her anything else for dinner but rice and vegetables
  • Smoothies - When we go to Costco she knows we get a berry smoothie for dad and she gets some tastes
  • Her blankie
One of her favorites

Funny Rosie stories

I was trying to get Rosie to take a bite of her dinner (she is a little too addicted to rice and peas and carrots so if I try to switch it up she is not a fan) and I told her I'd give her a treat if she took a bite. She immediately grabbed the fork and stuffed the food in her mouth. Then looked at me and said "treat". Luckily a grape still counts as a "treat".

Matt was teasing me calling me bossy in front of Rosie. Later that night while I was giving her a bath she pointed at me and said "bossy". We made the mistake of laughing and now she calls me bossy all the time.

Rosie's new favorite word is "scary". Everything is scary especially when I tell her the story of the 3 little pigs. She does not like the huffing and puffing the big bad wolf does.

Christmas in San Diego

For Christmas we spent a week in beautiful San Diego with Matt's family.
Rosie and her cousin Grant playing in the sand. It was so fun seeing these two interact
Hotel del Coronado. We stayed just a few miles down the beach at the Naval Base hotel thanks to Matt's Grandpa.
Some brotherly love
Rosie is still not a huge fan of the ocean. Hopefully that will change by the summer
Christmas morning. Rosie loves the baby doll and stroller from Santa.
Rosie and Matt's little brother Mike hit it off right away. He was the first person she asked for when she woke up. She has been going through some major Mike withdrawals.

Visitors

Matt's family came the weekend before we all went down to San Diego for Christmas. It was so fun spending time all together and it seems like the only time we go exploring is when people visit us.
Breakfast at the Griddle Cafe. That is Nutella stuffed french toast that Rosie is eying.
Hollywood Stars. Fun to see all the hand prints and stars but even more fun to people watch
These two will love Harry Potter....it's in their DNA
Hands down the best Santa and Mrs. Claus. You don't have to pay for a picture, there's fake snow and there wasn't a line. Plus they tried really hard to make Rosie happy.

November & December

November and the first part of December were filled with a lot of playing, a few sickies (me and Rosie) and this little girl who is always keeping us entertained. Here's a photo recap of the last two months (minus Christmas and New Years). Sorry the pictures aren't in order....it takes too much work to rearrange them
My parents sent Rosie a Little People Nativity set and she has loved it. I'm almost thinking we'll keep it up year round. Here she is having lunch with Mary and a Wiseman.
Rosie and Dad having a very important phone call.
Rosie's new laugh
Matt being irreverent in church :) This is one of Rosie's last time in Sunday School with us.
First cinnamon roll on Thanksgiving morning
She still loves her puppies
The second time Rosie was sick...right before I got sick
Rosie's first pigtails playing with her Christmas present from Santa.
New Year's Day - Rosie's New Year's resolution is to stop sleeping. She has been successful so far.
Catching up on rest missed over Christmas
