Eat Mor Chikin

Here are some pictures from Halloween. Rosie went as a Chick-fil-a cow and we were Chick-fil-a workers. We're hoping Rosie still fits in her costume when it's Cow Appreciation Day so we can get a free meal.

Rosie loved being a cow. When we showed her herself in the mirror she could not stop smiling and laughing but as usual as soon as we got the camera she became more interested in that than the mirror.

Videos of Rosie at 3 Months

Rolling

Rosie can now roll from her tummy to her back.  She can also roll from her back to tummy too...we have found her tummy down several times after naps.  Hopefully she figures out how to go back and forth soon.

3 Months

Mackenzie is now 3 months and is weighing in at 13 lbs (60th percentile) and 23 1/2 inches (30th percentile). She has also learned a few new tricks. She can roll over from her tummy to her back and has developed the cutest little laugh. Sadly we only got her laughing for a second on camera but the other day her and Matt were laughing back and forth at each other for about ten minutes (the camera was dead so no video of that).

Here are some of her likes and dislikes at 3 months.

Likes:
  • Playing with her dad
  • Her bouncy chair
  • Riding in the car - she usually ends up talking to herself
  • Tummy time
  • Baths
  • Sitting/Standing up
  • Laughing at my off key singing - sometimes she pities me and sings along
  • Brown Bear, Brown Bear - she is mesmerized by the pictures
  • Being around people. She is a ham already.  She is usually all smiles when other people are around.
Dislikes:
  • Napping - we're working on this one

She also loves sucking on her fingers....
Or whole fist (she usually tries to fit them both in her mouth).

Tour of Our New Apartment

Here's a little tour of where we'll be living for at least the next year. Our apartment was built in the 1940s and has a very "old Hollywood/vintage" feel.

 Front Entry

 Living Room

View from living room into dining/kitchen.

Dining Room, eventually we will be getting a table.

 Hallway

 Room #1: Mackenzie's Room

I have a couple more projects I'm finishing that will go in her room (a mobile and wall hangings)

Room #2: Our Room

AND our favorite....a bright purple/pink bathroom. It's not as sick in person. It's the original tile so I guess that's cool.

Like I mentioned earlier, our apartment was built in the 1940s and has a lot of original detailing that we love. Here are just a few pictures to show the character of our apartment.

Every room has this really pretty detailing on the walls and beautiful crown molding.

Built-in bookshelf in the hallway

We have loved this apartment so far. We're super close to everything I could ever need (Target, Costco, H&M, library, The Grove, the Temple etc.) and we're close enough to Matt's work for him to ride his bike. Plus we're also only about 10 miles away from Venice Beach. So people come visit us already!

Matt's New Job

For those who have been wondering here are some pictures of what Matt does all day...

or something like that

*For you non-Die Hard fans (like me)...the building Matt works in was used in the first Die Hard movie. As you can see Matt was pretty excited when he showed up for his first day of work.  Also apparently a lot of filming goes on around where we live....like Modern Family. I'm still waiting to run into Phil Dunphy.
